On March 26, the Angelo State University Rams baseball team defeated the Wayland Baptist University Pioneers with a whopping 14-2 victory.

After a quick first inning by the Pioneers, the Rams' first inning saw sophomore infielder Justin Harris score the first run of the game with an opening via a flyout by senior center Tripp Clark, followed shortly by a run by junior outfielder Jacob Guerrero for a 2-0 lead via an opening by senior infielder Conagher Sands with a double. With an opening by freshman infielder Ryder McDaniel with a triple down right field, Sands reached home for the Rams' third run; the following play saw McDaniel do the same with an opening by redshirt sophomore outfielder Rance Rosas via a double, ending the first inning with a 4-0 lead.

The Pioneers' second inning didn't go any better, as it ended in three plays; on the other hand, the Rams' second inning saw them reach a 5-0 lead with a run by junior infielder Kannon Brooks from third base.

Once again, the Pioneers' next inning saw no progress made, as the Rams scored two more runs in their third inning, with an opening by Brooks, Rosas and junior outfielder Jaxon Weatherly, who managed to end the third inning with a 7-0 lead.

The Pioneers' fourth inning had them hit a home run for their first run of the game, which was soon followed by a run from third to home plate for a 7-2 score. The Rams' fourth inning saw Guerrero secure another run, going from second base to home plate from an opening made by Sands with a single. The following play saw Weatherly hit a single to right field, allowing Clark to reach home plate from third for a 9-2 lead. They would end their inning 10-2 with a run by Sands as McDaniel would be grounded out.

After a standstill in the fifth innings and an uneventful sixth inning by the Pioneers, the Rams' sixth inning saw them secure three back-to-back runs by Sands, Weatherly and McDaniel for a significant 13-2 lead. Concluding the sixth inning, Rosas scored the Rams' last run on a flyout by Harris.

With their 14-2 victory against the WBU Pioneers, the Rams now have a 23-11 overall standing, with their next match-up on Friday, April 5, in Laredo, Texas, against the Texas A&M International University Dustdevils.
