03/24 Rambelle Softball No. 2

The Angelo State Rambelle softball team went 1-2 to the Texas A&M Kingsville Javelinas after losing their doubleheader 3-11 and 0-1 on March 21 and winning 2-1 on March 22.

 

ASU 3-11 TAMKU (Game 1) DH

The Javelinas would come out strong in the first match of the series, scoring three runs in the first inning and four in the second to lead 7-0.

 

Only Ashlyn Lerma, Paxton Scheurer and Ashton McMillan would record hits for the match.

03/24 Rambelle Softball No. 1

 

Lerma would go 3-for-3 from the plate, McMillan would go 2-for-3 and Scheurer would have a three-run home run. The Javelinas would take the victory over the Rambelles 11-3.

 

ASU 0-1 TAMKU (Game 2) DH

A two-out error would extend the first inning for the Javelinas to score the first and only point of the second match.

 

The Rambelles would only record five hits from Lerma, McMillan, Schreurer, Bailey Martinez and Ashton Dirner.

03/24 Rambelle Softball No. 3

 

ASU would fight back in the final inning, with Martinez singling followed by pinch runner Layni Tanner advancing to second base off a bunt. 

 

On two outs, Tanner would make it to third base. Tanner would dash for the home plate but get tagged out to end the game with a 1-0 Javelina victory.

 

ASU 2-1 TAMKU (Game 3)

The Javelinas would start the scoring effort with a run in the first inning to take the lead 1-0. The Rambelles would even the score, 1-1, in the third inning after Lerma would single before advancing off a Schreurer single to score off an RBI single by Lindsey Evans.

03/24 Rambelle Softball No. 4

 

Lerma would continue her fight by stealing second base off a Javelina error. Schreurer would draw a walk to set up Martinez for a single to send Lerma in for a run, giving ASU the 2-1 lead.

 

Martinez would seal the Rambelle victory in the seventh inning after Kayla Gonzales lined to Martinez, who caught the ball and tagged out the runner at first base to win the match 2-1.
